Toned silver gelitain prints. 20x24
The human body is truly amazing. It can bend and twist in many ways. It can be very strong yet very week. If left unattended, it can break down with more damage than if a piece of machinery were left unattended. However, if it is fueled correctly and is properly maintained physically, mentally, and spiritually, it can surpass even the greatest of well-oiled machines. I use photographs to show the many physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional sides of the human being. I like to focus mainly on human strengths rather then its weaknesses.
This particular body of work focuses on the form and texture of the human body on a physical level. I call them nudescapes. I like to make the body parts look like landscapes to emphasize the skin texture and body shape. I want to show how perfect and yet imperfect the skin and the shape of the body is. Everyone has a particular strength, and I look for the unique strengths of each of my models. It is such a thrill when I set up the shot and it looks just right for that model.
